CLEMSON - One of them is a first-time face of the roster by default. The other has been in the spotlight awhile, yet isn't always comfortable getting his close-up.

Quarterback Cole Stoudt and defensive end Vic Beasley will represent Clemson as the Tigers' two player spokesmen at the ACC Football Kickoff at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C., taking place July 20-21 (starting a week from Sunday.)

Stoudt was a natural selection on offense, as a senior playing the most visible position on the field. While he's not as outwardly bubbly as his predecessor Tajh Boyd, Stoudt has shown in his first months as the Clemson starter he's capable of saying the right things with a few traces of confidence.

He's one of just three quarterbacks representing the ACC's 14 teams, and Stoudt's in high company alongside reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston of defending national champion Florida State, and Marquise Williams, a promising junior for North Carolina.

Beasley, meanwhile, is one of the quieter voices among the Clemson defense; while he's popped off in rare spots - "Last year they got us, but I feel like we should have won," he declared going into the 2013 Florida State matchup - Beasley's a man of limited words.

However, he'll be one of the bigger stars in Greensboro; probably the biggest among players next to Winston. Beasley is a returning All-American defensive end who's expected to compete for national defensive player of the year honors.

Other names of note representing ACC schools: Miami running back Duke Johnson and linebacker Denzel Perryman, Louisville receiver DeVante Parker, Duke offensive guard Laken Tomlinson and Florida State cornerback P.J. Williams.

As far as the coaches, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is always an attractive quote, as is Florida State's Jimbo Fisher - especially after winning a ring in January. But by far, the brightest spectacle will be Louisville's Bobby Petrino, returning to the Cardinals in the next stage of a tumultuous career as Louisville enters its first season in ACC football.
