Caviar & Bananas is a favorite salad source, but the downtown restaurant is taking a considerably less healthy tack later this month, when burgers make their once-a-year appearance on the menu.
During Burger + Beer Night on July 23, burgers sell for $12 (including a side dish, such as watermelon salad or fries with green tomato ketchup) and draft beer's priced at five bucks. Burger choices include a fried chicken burger; pork-and-rabbit burger and a pair of beef burgers topped with trendy ingredients like tomato marmalade and white barbecue sauce. For eaters who want to keep their meals relatively nutritious, there's a falafel burger with pickled vegetables and curried yogurt.
Burger + Beer night runs from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the store's 51 George Street location. For more information, call 577-7757 or visit caviarandbananas.com.
