Firefighters are ventilating smoke on the eighth floor of Joseph Floyd Manor building in Charleston after a small fire ignited.

Around 1 p.m. crews arrived at the building off King Street and found food left on the stove of an apartment, according to fire officials.

Fire crews contained the blaze to the stovetop. No injuries were reported to fire officials.
