South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was on the Golf Channel Tuesday morning to announce that Myrtle Beach will be the backdrop for this fall's episodes of "The Big Break," a reality show that pits golfers against each other for the right to play professionally, according to a story posted on The State's website.

According to the Associated Press, the show's newest season was filmed at several courses in Myrtle Beach last month. The show will premiere October 7th, pitting six men and six women against each other for the right to win, among other prizes, an exemption into a PGA Tour or LPGA Tour event in 2015.
The group competed over three courses at Barefoot Resort, one each designed by Pete Dye, Tom Fazio and Davis Love III. An episode was also filmed at Pawley's Plantation, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course that is south of Myrtle Beach.
This is the first time since the series premiered in 2003 that it took place in South Carolina, which has a reputation as a leading golf resort destination.
