The Citadel won't be getting a new president for at least two more years.
The Board of Visitors for the military college has voted to extend the contract for retired Air Force Lt. Gen. John Rosa, president of the Citadel, to June 30, 2016, with the option of renewing the president's contract annually beyond that date.
Rosa's original contract ran through June of 2015. He has served as the president since January 2006.
The new contract does not include a pay raise for Rosa, whose salary will remain at $336,200. The new agreement allows the president to receive an annual bonus for continued implementation of the college's strategic plan LEAD 2018 but no state funds or tuition would be used for bonuses.
