A man was under the influence Monday when he rammed his truck into two bicyclists on Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant police said.
According to a collision report released by police, Warren Eugene Chico, 44, of Falling Creek Circle was charged with driving under the influence as a result of the wreck.
Injuries sustained by the bikers did not rise to the level of a felony, police spokesman Chip Googe said.
Authorities responded to the area of Rifle Range Road and Center Lakes Drive around 1 p.m. Monday regarding the wreck. One of the bikers reported being knocked in the grass, police said. The other flipped off his bike and landed on the ground.
Both bikers were transported to a local hospital for treatment where they were said to be in stable condition, authorities reported.
Chico was charged and later released on a custody summons following the wreck, Googe said.
No further information was available Tuesday night.
