-Afternoon festivities are being coordinated at Patriots Point as part of the Great Race annual rally of vintage cars, which is stopping overnight in Mount Pleasant. Dozens of cars at least 42 years old are covering 2,100 miles from Maine to Florida in nine days arriving at The Villages, Fla., Sunday. The Lowcountry A's Model A Ford Club will organize a greeting party of 80 cars at 2 p.m. at Patriots Point. The more than 100 racers will arrive after 4 p.m. Vehicles will park on inside and outside perimeter roads. Mount Pleasant is one of 10 places chosen for overnight stops. -Street Rods Unlimited will sponsor an evening cruise-in at Sonic drive-in, 660 College Park Road in Goose Creek. -Bessinger's Bar-B-Q will host an Open Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show 6-9 p.m. at the restaurant, 1602 Savannah Highway. Registration is $5. There are three trophies per class. -Mountaineer Collector Car Auction will be held at the Davis Event Center in Asheville-Fletcher, N.C., in conjunction with the annual Mountaineer Antique Auto Club Car Show, Flea Market and Car Corral July 4-5. Vehicles on hand for the auction will include Model A Fords, 1968 Camaro, 1957 Chevy, 1968 Buick Skylark, class of '68 Cadillacs and special Fords from the John and Mary Ann McDaniel collection. -Lowcountry Mopars will hold its "First Sunday" Cruise 1:30-4 p.m. at Hoover Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram, 195 Mary Meade Drive in Summerville. The club has been invited to display its classic vehicles at the new-car sales and service operation on Berlin G. Myers Parkway. An historic "100 Years of Dodge" exhibit is planned. It will feature 14 vintage Dodge vehicles encircling a special 1914 Dodge. There will be a staging area at 1 p.m. at Heritage Square shopping plaza at the intersection of U.S. Highway 78 and the parkway. The cars will make the short convoy to the cruise-in at 1:15 p.m. While Dodge will be the showpiece brand, all are invited whether they drive a Chrysler, Plymouth or other type of Pentastar vehicle.

-The 2014 AMO (American Motors Owners Association) International Convention will be held at InnPlace Hotel & Conference Center in North Charleston. The four-day event, hosted by Carolina AMC, will celebrate 60 years of AMC 1954-2014. Brands include Nash, Hudson, Rambler, AMC, Jeep, Renault and Eagle. -A classic car show and BBQ will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at St. Andrew's Parish United Methodist Church, 3225 Ashley River Road in Charleston. The event is hosted by the Men's Club of St. Andrew's Parish United Methodist. Car registration is $10. There will be 14 trophy prizes including first, second and third place and Best of Show.
