U.S. Sen. Tim Scott will host a special ceremony Aug. 2 in Columbia to honor South Carolina's Vietnam War-era veterans.
The event will be held at First Baptist Church of Columbia, 1306 Hampton St., beginning at 10 a.m.
Retired Marine Maj. Gen. James Livingston, a Medal of Honor recipient, will deliver the keynote address. Military bands from around South Carolina will perform and military artifacts and memorabilia from the period will be on display.
Scott, R-S.C., will also give each veteran a special Senatorial Certificate of Appreciation and a pin.
All interested veterans and guests should register by July 28 either by visiting scott.senate.gov/veterans or by calling 844-820-0146 (toll free).
Scott has hosted previous honor ceremonies for South Carolina veterans since being elected to federal office, including for World War II and Korean War-era veterans.
