History Fair

Magnolia Plantation is bringing together more than 30 organizations, businesses and institutions with historic ties to the Lowcountry for the second annual History Fair. Representatives from the various organizations will be on-site distributing information and make presentations that promise to be accessible to all ages. Participants include the American College of the Building Arts, Charles Towne Landing, Charleston Artist Guild, Charleston Library Society, Dock Street Theater, Drayton Hall, Keepers of the Word, Middleton Place, Old Slave Mart Museum, Powder Magazine, South Carolina Historical Society and more. Magnolia is also offering three special activities for guests who pay the general garden admission: Master brickmaker Rick Owens, storyteller Kitty Wilson-Evans and character actor Kirk R. Brown, who portrays landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, will perform in separate settings.

When: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday

Price: Free (does not include garden admission, which is $15; garden admission will be free for firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical technicians, physicians, nurses and active duty military and immediate family with valid ID)
