COLUMBIA, S.C. - Jurors considering corruption charges against a former South Carolina State University trustee have asked to listen again to several phone calls taped by the government.
The jury is in its third day of deliberations on 45 charges in Jonathan Pinson's federal racketeering trial. On Tuesday and Wednesday, jurors asked to listen to several of the more than 100 wiretapped calls by Pinson that prosecutors put into evidence.
The calls requested by jurors include one where Pinson and a Florida developer discuss Pinson getting a Porsche SUV in exchange for convincing the university to buy property from the businessman.
Pinson's attorneys say he never benefited from any of the deals.
The jury is also considering charges against Pinson's college friend and business partner Eric Robinson.
