The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding a missing 73-year-old man.
The family of Rufus Gregory last saw him at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday leaving the area Woodwind Drive off Orangeburg Road near Embassy Drive. Relatives said Gregory was supposed to drive straight to his house on New Road Extension in Hollywood but never showed up. A deputy searched between there and Gregory's house but didn't find anything, according to the incident report.
Gregory was driving a gold 2002 Dodge Caravan with dents in the driver's side door and back bumper. He was wearing blue Dickie pants and a gray shirt.
Gregory is described as black, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 to 150 pounds. His family told deputies he was not carrying any cash, credit cards or a cellphone. Relatives said he was in good mental health.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office in Summerville at 873-5111 or St. George at 563-3511.
