The teenager accused of breaking into a Charleston house and fatally stabbing 18-year-old Brandon Bennett is back in the Charleston County jail, police said Wednesday.
Terrell Smith, 17, of Audubon Avenue in North Charleston is charged in Bennett's death. He was stabbed to death June 11 when somebody broke into his house on Congress Street.
U.S. marshals arrested Smith June 16 in Alabama. He is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime. His bond hearing is set for 2 p.m. Thursday.
Smith was out of jail on bail after an arrest on narcotics charges in March when he was charged with Bennett's murder.
Bennett's friends and relatives said he never caused any trouble and had never been arrested. He was attending Trident Technical College.
