COLUMBIA - After a strong rookie season, South Carolina pitcher Wil Crowe received freshman All-American honors from Baseball America on Monday.
Crowe immediately established himself as the No. 3 starter in the Gamecocks weekend rotation last fall. He finished with an 8-3 record in 15 starts and 2.75 ERA in 91.2 innings pitched.
The hard-throwing right-hander saved his best for last, pitching a complete game shutout against Campbell in the NCAA Columbia Regional. Crowe delivered nine innings when South Carolina needed him to go the distance, keeping its bullpen fresh.
It's the second time Crowe has received freshman All-American honors. Earlier this month, Crowe also earned freshman All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball.
