EASLEY, S.C. - State police have arrested an Easley man and charged him with setting a fire to a home to try to prevent someone from testifying at his trial.
Twenty-two-year-old Alexander Tuckey Dillard is accused of setting the fire Monday. He was scheduled to go on trial on an armed robbery charge that morning.
Dillard pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of armed robbery and a weapons offense. He was sentenced to nearly 12 years in prison.
Dillard was charged Wednesday with attempted murder, arson, making a destruction device and intimidation of a witness.
A Travelers Rest woman, 18-year-old Alexis Jade Adams, was also arrested and charged with one count of conspiracy and accessory to a felony.
It was not clear if Dillard and Adams have attorneys.
