A 24-year-old man died Thursday morning after crashing into a road grader in Mount Pleasant, authorities said.
Charleston County Chief Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal identified the man as Bret Cooper of the Isle of Palms.
Mount Pleasant police responded to a report of the crash around 7:30 a.m. near Rifle Range Road at the Isle of Palms Connector.
According to police spokesman Chip Googe, Cooper's Subaru Outback was traveling to Mount Pleasant when it crashed directly into the construction vehicle. The road grader was not doing construction work when the wreck occurred, he said.
Cooper was declared dead at the scene.
