A Charleston police officer was transported to Medical University Hospital after wrecking his cruiser early Thursday morning on Johns Island, S.C. Highway Patrol reported.
According to Senior Trooper Hannah Wimberly, the officer was traveling east on Main Road around 3:45 a.m. when he ran off of the road, overcorrected and struck a tree. The wreck occurred near the Chisolm Road intersection, she said.
Wimberly identified the officer as Richard Ho. He was transported to MUSC for treatment, Wimberly said.
Later in the morning, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said the officer was deemed to be in fine condition.
