Colleton County sheriff's deputies are searching for clues after a 19-year-old woman was shot in the leg Tuesday night.
According to Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Amye Stivender, the woman called authorities from a hospital while seeking treatment for injuries that weren't believed to be life threatening.
The woman told investigators she was shot near a wooded area on Furlong Street, outside of Walterboro, Stivender said.
Investigators believe the shooting was connected to an argument the victim had with another woman earlier in the day, Stivender said.
An arrest hadn't been made in the shooting Wednesday morning.
