A funnel cloud over Summerville got some attention Wednesday night.
About 7:38 p.m, the National Weather Service reported a strong thunderstorm with a funnel cloud near Main Street, moving east at 15 mph.
"A small shower hit the sea breeze just enough to get some rotation," meteorologist Steven Taylor said.
A funnel cloud is basically a tornado in the sky, he said. There was no indication the funnel cloud touched down, although the system brought in about a quarter inch of rain in a few minutes, he said.
