Ten people were killed statewide in weekend wrecks, preliminary reports show.

The S.C. Department of Public Safety reported 339 people killed statewide in fatal wrecks between Jan. 1 and June 22. In 2013, 344 deaths were reported during the same time period, state officials said.

According to the state Department of Public Safety, nine of the 10 deaths reported between Friday and Sunday occurred on U.S., state and secondary roads, with the remaining fatality occurring on a county road.
Three of the people killed were pedestrians, a fourth was a motorcyclist and a fifth a bicyclist, authorities said.
The deaths brought this year's total to 339, compared with the 344 highway deaths reported this time last year, officials said.
According to Public Safety, of the 241 killed this year in motor vehicles, 119 weren't wearing seat belts. Of this year's total deaths, 18 were reported in Charleston County. Ten were reported in Berkeley County and seven in Dorchester, Public Safety numbers show.
