Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine Dean Etta Pisano discussed the advances in breast imaging research Monday afternoon on Capitol Hill.
Physicians from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Emory University School of Medicine and other professionals also participated in the briefing, which was organized by MUSC and the American College of Radiology.
Dr. Pisano addressed recent scientific trials, how this new research could affect current breast cancer screening policies and how these advances impact patients, according to a press release about the event.
