Lowcountry Anglers Inshore Tournament
The Lowcountry Anglers' 19th annual Inshore Fishing Tournament will be fished Saturday. Weigh-in will be 4-5:30 p.m. at the Charleston Maritime Center. The captain's meeting will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Maritime Center. The entry fee is $45 for adults and $15 for youth 15 and younger. Eligible species are speckle trout, flounder, sheepshead, bluefish, black sea bass, spadefish, Spanish mackerel and king mackerel. Folly Take a Kid Fishing
The Folly Beach Anglers' sixth annual Take a Kid Fishing Day Tournament will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Folly Beach Pier. There is no entry fee and open to youth 16 and younger. Charleston Harbor Tarpon Release Tournament
The 20th annual Charleston Harbor Tarpon Release Tournament will be fished July 5. The entry fee is $40. Fishing hours are 6 a.m.-6 p.m. only in Charleston County. Boating safety class
The Charleston Sail and Power Squadron will hold a boating safety class July 12 at the CSPS headquarters, located at 1376 Orange Grove Road in West Ashley. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the class lasts until 4:30 p.m. Class size is limited to the first 24. The cost is $30 for the first person and $15 for a second person. Ministries2Men Angler's Cup
The Ministries2Men Angler's Cup fishing tournament will be held July 11-12. All activities will take place at Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant. Eligible species are: red drum, sea trout, largemouth bass, catfish, bait fish and a special unlimited category. First-place prizes will be awarded based on a combined weight of three legal fish per category. The tournament is a two-angler (man, woman or child) team format. Orvis 101 Fly Fishing Class

James Island King Mackerel Tournament
The 2014 James Island Yacht Club King Mackerel and Inshore-Offshore Tournament will be fished July 26. Registration will take place from 6-8 p.m. July 25 at JIYC. The entry fee for the king mackerel division is $275 or $325 after July 18. There also is a wahoo division for offshore anglers and the inshore division includes trout, flounder and sheepshead with special categories of Spanish mackerel, amberjack, toadfish, largest menhaden and smallest legal kingfish weighed. Fly Fishing 201
Capt. John Irwin will lead Fly Fishing 201 schools throughout the year at The Charleston Angler in Mount Pleasant and West Ashley. The cost is $75 for the classes which run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Class sizes are limited to 10 participants. Topics covered include fly casting to knots and fly selections for Lowcountry species.
