COLUMBIA - South Carolina opened as three-point favorites against Clemson and Georgia on Friday, according to Golden Nugget.
The Las Vegas casino released its 200 Games of the Year for the 2014 college football season Friday afternoon. The Gamecocks were overwhelming favorites, given the odds in six of their seven games on the list. They were listed as a touchdown underdog for their Oct. 25 trip to defending national runner-up Auburn.
Easily the most eye-popping number: South Carolina was listed as 18-point favorites for their Nov. 1 home game against Tennessee. The Gamecocks lost 23-21 on a last-second field goal against the Volunteers last season. Certainly, USC would like to seek revenge for a loss that knocked it out of the SEC Championship game. Looks like the Las Vegas odds makers expect the same.
Here are the seven South Carolina point spreads listed on the Golden Nugget.
South Carolina -9 Texas A&M
South Carolina -3 Georgia
South Carolina -11 Missouri
South Carolina -6 Florida
South Carolina -18 Tennessee
South Carolina + 7 Auburn
South Carolina -3 Clemson
