Carolina International Trucks is renovating and expanding its local operations, officials said.
The Columbia-based truck dealer has announced plans to upgrade its facility at 2580 Oscar Johnson Drive in North Charleston.
Plans include renovating and expanding the 29,000-square-foot facility to include 20 full-service repair bays, a standalone service write-up area for immediate diagnostics and repair planning, officials said.
"The Charleston market is expanding and we are investing to improve our customers' vehicle uptime, provide faster access to a larger inventory of parts, and increase service efficiency," said Dick Ryan, principal of Carolina International Trucks.
Other changes include a 5,100-square-foot parts warehouse, in addition to a new drivers' lounge with wireless internet and high-definition TVs, officials said.
The dealership will remain open during the renovations, which are planned to be completed in July 2015.
Founded in 1993, Carolina International Trucks operates six commercial truck dealerships in South Carolina. The company sells and services International® Trucks, IC Buses and Mitsubishi Fuso medium duty commercial trucks, according to its website.
