A 27-year-old man was shot in the chest early Wednesday near Mount Pleasant, but he didn't cooperate with deputies trying to investigate the incident, according to a report.
Joshua Simmons of Rifle Range Road was shot around 3 a.m. somewhere on Bobo Road, his girlfriend told the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
She said he then ran to his cousin's house at 2945 Bobo Road, and she took him to a hospital in town, the incident report stated.
Simmons was treated for a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest. Deputies reported that he was alert and talking, but Simmons was "very vague and elusive" when asked about who had shot him and where it had happened.
Deputies couldn't find evidence of the shooting on Bobo Road, they reported.
No suspect had been identified.
Bobo Road is in an unincorporated area east of S.C. Highway 41 and south of Dunes West Boulevard.
