CLEMSON - All five Clemson players selected in the 2014 NFL Draft are under contract with their new professional teams, topping $30 million combined in guaranteed signing bonuses and potential base salaries.
Of course, wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who matched Clemson's loftiest draft pick ever when Buffalo took him fourth overall, commands the lion's share of that money. Watkins' deal is still being reworked and finalized, according to media reports, though the total four-year, $19.9 million value is not expected to change.
Down the line, offensive tackle Brandon Thomas, cornerback Bashaud Breeland, wide receiver Martavis Bryant and quarterback Tajh Boyd each stand to bank between $2.3 and $2.8 million if they sustain the life of their four-year deals.
Thomas, Breeland and Bryant, all drafted within 18 spots of each other, have identical base salaries for the next four years, as does Boyd: $420,000, $510,000, $600,000, $690,000. Those values are pre-determined by the rookie minimum wage scale under the 2011 collective bargaining agreement.
Thomas' signing bonus is $20,000 higher than Breeland's, which in turn was a little under $50,000 richer than Bryant's, whose deal was finalized Monday evening.
The onus is most on Boyd to avoid getting cut or demoted to a practice squad, with a signing bonus of less than six figures. He'll battle with Geno Smith and Michael Vick to try and become worthy of one of Rex Ryan's two or three quarterbacks to make the New York Jets' 53-man roster.
Here are the final details of each player's four-year contract. All figures were independently reported or confirmed by The Post and Courier during the past month:

TOTAL: $30,370,000, $21.4 million guaranteed
