You never know what you're going to see in the Lowcountry on any given day. Same goes for our local social media community.
I thought I'd share a few things I've found:
The folks at LEARN, a non-profit horse rescue, recently took a ride through a fast-food drive-thru. Watch the video here. Unfortunately, director Elizabeth Steed says the horses weren't heavy enough to trigger the speaker and there were a few patties they had clean up. Living the dream indeed.
We got this
SConfire.com has been tracking fires and fire-related issues across the state with the help of active firefighters for years. Now one of its leaders, Steve Skipton, Sr. needs your help as he battles cancer. Buy a 'We' Got This shirt here.
Make the Dead 27s famous
Charleston band the Dead 27s has scored a huge opportunity by being featured on VH1's new show - Make a Band Famous - and they need your help. Tweet #MABF #dead27s to vote for them on Wednesday, June 11th at 8 p.m. Click here if you want to hear some of their music.
Eat a treat, help a shelter pet
A 'Mason jar mobile bakery' out of Charleston wants to feed you cupcakes in Mason jars and help shelter pets but they have a problem: They're not exactly mobile. They're starting a campaign to raise money to buy some wheels. More details here.
Charleston's theater on the rise
This story by PolicyMic placing Charleston 14th on a list of '17 Amazing Theater Cities That Aren't London or New York" has been getting a lot of shares on Facebook and Twitter. No. 15? Chicago. Not bad, Charleston. Not bad.
