A radio and telephone campaign against Republican U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham may be using an illegal method to make robo-calls to South Carolina residents, according to a story at TheState.com.
In the phone calls, the caller claims to be with a group called "Americans for Legal Immigration" and asks listeners to call Graham and U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., and "thank" them for supporting "amnesty" for illegal immigrants, the story said.
The state's Republican Party chairman, Matt Moore, sent out a memo last month reminding camplaigns that state law bans the use of automatic dialers to deliver unsolicited, pre-recorded consumer or political messages without assistance of a live operator, the story said.
