ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. - Gov. Nikki Haley is visiting the South Carolina coast to honor three retiring CEOs of the state's electric cooperatives who have more than a century of combined experience.
The governor visits the Isle of Palms on Wednesday for a meeting of the state's 20 not-for-profit electric cooperatives.
Ron Calcaterra of the Central Electric Power Cooperative, Bill Fleming of the Marlboro Electric Cooperative and Tom Upshaw of the Palmetto Electric Cooperative are being honored. Between them, they have 109 years of service.
Electric cooperatives serve 1.5 million South Carolinians in all 46 counties.
