We weren't sure what to expect when we chose 'Lowcountry Boats' as this week's photo assignment.
Of course we knew we would get a lot of pictures of boats but would we be able to tell a Lowcountry boat from any other boat? We were pleasantly surprised with the results this week as there were so many good shots that captured the essence of the Lowcountry. Great job, everyone.
The editors chose Michael Trotman's fabulous shot of the shrimping boat in the Charleston Harbor to appear in Friday's newspaper. Pick up a copy of Friday's newspaper to read what they liked most about it.
After this week's assignment we're very optimistic about next week's assignment: People of the Lowcountry. Show us an artistic picture of someone in their environment, working and/or living in the Lowcountry.
Please make sure you identify the person and have their permission to use their image. Also, please indicate in the email if we have permission to publish it in My Charleston magazine.
- Send just one (1) photograph to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on Tuesday, June 10. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.
- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
