A tranquil weather pattern will bring a mix of sun and clouds and cooler air early this week in the Charleston area.
The National Weather Service called for mostly sunny conditions and a high of only 78 degrees on Monday, which is 9 degrees below the normal mark for that date.
Forecasters don't expect a chance of thunderstorms until Friday.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph.
Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 71.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.
Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 73.
Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 74.
Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.
Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
