A man who evaded capture after shooting the mother of his child last month is now in custody, Charleston police said.
Reco Ramone Felder, 38, was arrested Monday by U.S. Marshals and charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said. He was located around 5:15 p.m. at the Gadsden Green public housing complex and was taken into custody without incident, he said.
Authorities had been looking for Felder since May 24 in connection with a shooting at a West Ashley apartment.
Police alleged that Felder shot the mother of his child while she was leaving her apartment at 78 Ashley Hall Road about 7 a.m. The woman was rushed to Medical University Hospital, Francis said. Her condition was not available.
