Lightning may be to blame for a North Charleston house fire Friday afternoon.
Firefighters were called just before 1:15 p.m. to Baker Avenue, according to Fire Department spokeswoman Bianca Bourbeau. The neighborhood is between Rivers Avenue and Azalea Drive.
Nobody was home at the time. Neighbors said the house was hit by lightning, although the cause is under investigation, she said. Firefighters from North Charleston, Charleston and Saint Andrews contained the fire to the attic and the exterior of the home.
No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross was helping the family.
