Officers responding to a complaint of illegal drug activity at a North Charleston apartment Friday morning seized nearly $184,000 in cash, according to police.
Officers were sent to an apartment at 9345 Blue House Road around 6 a.m., according to spokesman Spencer Pryor. A search warrant was obtained, and officers said they found marijuana in plain view.
A search of the apartment and vehicles netted marijuana, two firearms and $183,649 in cash, Pryor said.
Karl D. Hugee, 31, who lived there, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
He was being held in the Charleston County jail.
