The University of South Carolina is launching a new graduate degree program in engineering management this fall at the Lowcountry Graduate Center in North Charleston.
The master's in engineering management is designed for engineers and computer scientists on a career path in management. The launch of the new degree program in the lowcountry comes as a response to demand from companies for technically trained engineers with management expertise, a news release said.
Topics covered in the degree program will include managing product development, optimizing resources and negotiating new projects. Professors from both USC and The Citadel will teach the courses through structured weekend classes.
An information session for prospective students will be held on June 17 at 6 p.m. at the Lowcountry Graduate Center in North Charleston.
