At least Charlie Whitehurst is taking it well.

The good-natured former Clemson quarterback, preparing for his first season with the Tennessee Titans, wanted to keep jersey No. 6 - the number he wore at Clemson, with the San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks.

But because Tennessee punter Brett Kern had No. 6, the two players decided to arm-wrestle for it.

Whitehurst tweeted "Arm-wrestled the punter and lost" - complete with Instagram photo of his new number, 12.
