SANTEE, S.C. - The bodies of two Sumter men have been pulled from Lake Marion, where they had been swimming.
The Natural Resources Department says a woman who was swimming with the men near the Interstate 95 bridge made it to shore and called for help late Tuesday afternoon.
Natural Resources Department spokesman Robert McCullough says agency divers recovered the bodies about 6:30 p.m.
The Clarendon County coroner is investigating. The victim's names have not been released.
Lt. Brian Corbett said it appears one of the men got in trouble while swimming and the other man tried to help and both of them drowned.
