Post and Courier food writer and critic Hanna Raskin has been named a finalist for best food blog in the Association of Food Journalists' annual Awards Competition.

AFJ's contest this year drew 272 total entries in 17 different categories of food journalism. Winners will be announced during the organization's annual conference on Sept. 11 in Memphis.

Raskin, the author of "Yelp Help: How to Write Great Online Restaurant Reviews," previously worked as critic for the Seattle Weekly and the Dallas Observer. Her writing has been recognized by AFJ, the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, and the James Beard Foundation. She has been published in Garden & Gun, Southern Living, Cooking Light, Modern Farmer and Tasting Table. A food historian by training, she is a founding member of Foodways Texas and an active member of the Southern Foodways Alliance.
