The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man in connection with the shooting death of another man Saturday night at a home in Lincolnville.
Charleston County Sheriff's deputies say they responded to 110 Big Oak Lane at about 9:24 p.m. to investigate reports of a shooting.
Deputies found a black male who had been shot by an unknown suspect while he was inside the home, Maj. Eric Watson said.
The wounded man was taken to Trident Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. He has been identified as Ricardo Smith, 36, of Ladson, according to the Coroner's Office. The Coroner's Office confirmed that Smith died as a result of a gun shot wound.
Watson said investigators didn't immediately have a motive for the shooting.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, 30 to 35 years old. He wore black pants and a black shirt and left the scene in an unknown direction.
The slaying is the 10th homicide in Charleston County since April 25. There have been 18 for the entire year.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at 843-203-1700.
