Charleston police were looking Saturday for a man suspected of shooting the mother of his child as she left her West Ashley apartment Saturday morning.
Reco Ramone Felder, 38, whose last address was unknown, was wanted for attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to a news release from the police department.
Felder is described as black, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 140 pounds. He was last seen on foot near the area of Ashley Phosphate Road and Interstate 26 shortly after the shooting, the release said.
Police spokesman Charles Francis said Felder is suspected of shooting a woman who was leaving her apartment at 78 Ashley Hall Road about 7 a.m. Saturday. The woman was rushed to Medical University Hospital, Francis said. Her condition was not available.
Felder is considered armed and dangerous, according to the release.
Anyone who sees him or is aware of his whereabouts is asked to call police or leave a tip with Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
