CONWAY, S.C. - A judge has again denied bond for a woman who along with her husband is charged with murder and kidnapping in the disappearance of a woman on the Grand Strand.
A lawyer for 42-year-old Tammy Moorer asked the judge Friday to issue a bond because she is pregnant and wants better medical care as she awaits trial.
But prosecutors say they aren't sure Moorer is pregnant. They say she refused to be examined by a doctor or get prenatal care after pregnancy tests showed different results.
Circuit Judge Steven John told jail staff to closely monitor Moorer's health and document any refusal of care in writing.
Moorer and her husband, Sidney, are charged in the death of 20-year-old Heather Elvis, last seen Dec. 17. Her body has not been found.
