The Georgetown Landing-based boat, owned by Norman Pulliam and captained by Mark Rogers, hooked a 300-pound plus blue marlin and released it at 10:50 a.m., earning 600 points. Rascal's only other catch was a dolphin that also was released.
The tournament continues through Saturday with boats allowed to fish two out of three days, captain's choice. All 29 boats entered in the event have indicated they will fish Friday and there will be 28 boats eligible to fish Saturday.
The weigh-ins at Georgetown Landing begin at 5 p.m., with the scales closing at 9 p.m. Saturday.
