Dale Carey went 4 for 5 for the Hurricanes (40-17), who fell to 1-1 at the tournament and play fourth-seeded Duke on Saturday.
Drew Moyer (5-1) got the win in relief of starter Daniel Gossett, who struck out eight in 81/3 innings.
