The Ben Sawyer Bridge was stuck in the open position so no traffic could cross for about two hours, the Mount Pleasant Police Department said via social media.
The department sent out a tweet about 3 p.m. saying the bridge is stuck. At 5:10 p.m. police said the bridge was "fixed and traffic was moving."
An electrician was on scene working on the problem, according to Sullivan's Island police.
Isle of Palms police reported traffic delays because of the closure.
The bridge is between Mount Pleasant and Sullivan's Island.
