Construction of a 46-acre planned community on the Berkeley County side of Charleston is expected to start this fall, officials said.
Sullivan's Island-based Kassinger Development Group recently announced that it has hired a team for managing the development and marketing of Sweetwater, a community at the former Rebellion Farms estate off Clements Ferry Road in the Wando area, north of Daniel Island.
"The expansion of the team is crucial to resource and scale our business to support the Sweetwater project and beyond," said Wade H. Thompson, Partner, Kassinger Development Group.
Officials for the company said construction is set to begin this fall.
Sweetwater is a mixed-use development that is planned to include garden-style apartment homes, single-family homes, an inn for guests and events, restaurant, snack shop and water amenities.
The firm has built multifamily communities in Virginia and North Carolina, according to a written statement.
