What: The Knights of Columbus Council 9475 will hold a book sale on Long Grove Drive next to Crescent Olive. All hardcovers and paperbacks will be $1 and proceeds will benefit the Knights' philanthropic projects.

Rice Planting Demonstrations

What: Visitors are invited to take part in the centuries-old tradition of rice cultivation as Middleton Place embarks on the annual planting of the demonstration rice field. A costumed interpreter will teach how Carolina Gold rice was planted on Lowcountry plantations and about the African origins of rice and its cultivation in South Carolina in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Taste of the Market: Hometown Heroes

What: Charleston Culinary Tours will present a special Taste of the Market that will celebrate local civil servants, military personnel, hometown heroes and community leaders. They will receive a discounted admission and other giveaways with uniform or ID badge. On the tour, guests will have an opportunity to sample some of the Lowcountry's finest offerings and meet the owners, chefs and mixologists behind the culinary and bar innovations. Proceeds benefit Hospitality Heroes Fund, an organization that aids local hospitality employees and their families who are impacted by a medical hardship.
