A man was shot in a leg early Wednesday morning on James Island, a police spokesman said.
An argument between two people prompted the gunfire around 4 a.m. at 1402 Secessionville Road, said Charles Francis, a spokesman for the Charleston Police Department. The location was a house just south of Fort Johnson Road.
The gunshot wound to the victim's leg did not appear to be life-threatening, Francis said. The injured man was taken to Medical University Hospital.
Officers had made no arrests by 6 a.m., Francis said.
No further information was immediately available.
