From the pier at Folly to the boneyard at Botany Bay, each of the Lowcountry beaches has its own personality and charm.
That is reflected in all 39 photos submitted for this week's photo assignment: Lowcountry Beaches.
Our editors particularly liked Maggie Gregory's stunning photo from Folly Beach. Pick up a copy of Friday's People section to read their comments.
We also saw a lot of candidates for our annual My Charleston magazine. That selection process is still ongoing and we'll let you know more as we get closer to the August publication date.
Next week's assignment - the Lowcountry at night - is also tied to My Charleston magazine. If you'd like yours to be included please tell us in your email. Also, because we may use it in the magazine, please supply the name of anyone prominently featured in your photo.
- Send just one (1) photograph to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on Tuesday, May 20. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.
- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
