Anybody missing a $500 Numark turntable that was left on Smith Street last week?
Charleston police want to return it to its owner.
Police got a call about a suspicious package at 132 Smith St. at 9:13 p.m. May 7, according to the incident report. It turned out to be a black Odyssey carrying case. The caller said it had been there since 8 a.m.
The officer opened the case and found a Numark Ns6 turntable inside. The report lists its value at $500.
The officer checked nearby cars and apartments for signs of forced entry without finding anything unusual, and nearby residents also didn't seem to know anything about it, according to the report.
The turntable can be claimed with the proper paperwork from the police department's evidence unit at 180 Lockwood Blvd., according to spokesman Charles Francis.
