The Dallas Cowboys have invited Citadel cornerback Brandon McCladdie to the NFL team's rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis this weekend.

McCladdie, a 6-1, 200-pounder from Martinez, Ga., was named second-team all-Southern Conference last season and played in the inaugural Medal of Honor Bowl all-star game at Johnson Hagood Stadium.

McCladdie finished his career with eight interceptions and six forced fumbles and led the SoCon with 10 passes defended last season.

Ronald Patrick, an offensive lineman from South Carolina, also is expected to attend the Cowboys' mini-camp as an undrafted free agent. And Quinton Washington, a graduate of Timberland High School and former defensive tackle at Michigan, will get a mini-camp tryout with the Raiders.

McCladdie will try to join Citadel alums Andre Roberts (Redskins) and Cortez Allen (Steelers) in the NFL.
