There's a new Fit Family Challenge kicking off today in partnership with Lowcountry Parent magazine that awards prizes for developing healthy lifestyle habits.
The challenge is designed to motivate families to get moving and create healthier lifestyles through exercise, fitness and healthy living activities.
There will be free classes, expert advice and nutrition tips. Use the online fitness tracker to keep your family on track. Enter your daily activities and healthy habits to earn points and win prizes.
Each family (considered to be 1 adult and 1 child under age 18) registers online at www.lowcountryparent.com and tracks activities for a chance to earn points and win prizes through July 10.
There are weekly prizes, plus a grand prize of a family vacation to two theme parks at Universal Orlando Resort.
Each entrant will earn 100 points each week when they log a minimum of 150 minutes of physical activity. Earn 10 points for each healthy habit logged with a limit of five healthy habits per day. There are additional opportunities to earn points by participating in special events and activities that can be found on lowcountryparent.com. There is no limit to how many participating classes you can attend.
To qualify for the grand prize drawing, you must earn at least 100 points by logging activities in the online activity tracker.
The Fit Family Challenge is in partnership with Coca-Cola, CVS and the South Carolina Hospital Association and Medical University of South Carolina.
